SALAM ...
It is 20 minutes to 1 o'clock am at the moment. I am in my home. It is just so fine to have my weekend at home. Don't u think so?
Last Wednesday ( 23 December 2009), i have attended one talk given by Dato' Zaid Ibrahim. He was a former member of Parliament (MP). His education's background surely was law. But, at the moment, he is a politician and had put himself in Parti Keadilan Rakyat. Previously, he was in Barisan Nasional. I will not talk so much on why he went to PKR. Coz, i myself could'nt really figure out the reason for him doing that. And why must he chosed PKR not others parties such as PAS or DAP, still i could not give you the reason.
What ever it is, a politician who indulge himself to politics for the sake of Islam and to seek Allah's pleasure, he will surely knows his own stand and which parties is best for him to be stood for. Dato' Zaid Ibrahim can be said as a good person in being a Malay lawyer's pioneer in having a law firm. He opened a very fine and prominent law firm that had contributed a lots in training young Malay's lawyers to expand their experiences in law's field.
So his speech that day was quite impressive. I believe that despite there might be few audiences that don't really like him, still his talk had gave some benefits to the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Law's students. He laid down several characteristics that shall be equipped by law' students
1. To be skillful
Like you can talk well and confidently especially when you posting or forwarded any issues on law before the court.
Very skillful in doing your documentation.
Be very much adaptable to merge with people and your surrounding
2. Specialization area
He did mentioned that law' students should find their specialization area. Which area that you want to go most? that you think you want to involve most when you practicing?
Indian's lawyers mostly go for criminal part while for Chinese's lawyers , they mostly involved in company things and thus, they do enjoy in Civil law.
Malay? Most probably in administration area.
Thus, which area shall i go to?
I should figure that out very soon and not to go for a long time to recognize my specialization area
3. Go for versatility
If we can afford to speak many languages, that is a big credits for young lawyers
Like if you've been put in any places, you are able to adapt as you can speak any languages that supposed to
4. Passion
Would a person goes well to read law without passion?
Ya..there may be some people may do it so. But, will they find that law is so interesting?
Thus, i myself too believe that passion is the 1st thing ever should be put in the list of a law' student.
As if they do law without passion, most probably they will find themselves suffering in their living
So, Lawyer? Can i be one?
Hopefully, with passion granted by Allah that i have at the moment will help me to build my skills towards a versatility's lawyer in my coming specialization area.
Amin
